Chance to shine – the Cricket Foundation’s campaign to regenerate competitive cricket in state schools – is working well, according to research.
The ECB has announced that its ground-breaking educational resource Howzat! will be rolled out to 1,000 cricket coaches and 1,000 school teachers a year as part of a new initiative.
Grassroots cricket is thriving at state school level, according to Warden Park school cricket teacher James Gentry.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has announced a massive 27 per cent increase in participation in club and school cricket during 2006/07, with women’s and girls' cricket leading the way with the sharpest rise.
