Brit Insurance
We’re proud to be the Teams’ sponsor!
Everyone at Brit Insurance is proud say that we are the official sponsor of the England Cricket Teams. Since our sponsorship started in 2010 we have enjoyed watching two tremendous years of success on the pitch, including the Women’s team retaining their world No 1 ranking for One Day Internationals, and the Men’s team winning the ICC T20 World Cup in 2010, an Ashes victory in Australia (the first time in 24 years) in 2011 and becoming the No 1 Test team in the world in August 2011.
What we do
Brit Insurance is an international general insurance and reinsurance group specialising in commercial insurance, offering protection for business.
Our offices are located across the UK in London, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Reading, and in Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney and Tokyo, with representatives in Copenhagen.
Brit Insurance offers a diverse variety of insurance cover to businesses in over 80 territories across the world in the major ‘property’, ‘casualty’ and ‘motor’ classes. We provide insurance cover on land, sea and in the air: from a small shop in the UK to oil rigs in Texas; from container ships to yachts, to satellites in orbit.
Why cricket?
Our association with cricket is an excellent way to increase the profile of Brit Insurance with those that purchase and advise on business insurance, as a high proportion of these people follow the game.
Brit Insurance has been associated with cricket since 2004 when we became Surrey’s shirt and ground sponsor, a partnership that lasted until December 2010. In 2006 we extended our involvement in cricket by becoming the Insurance Partner of the Test Match Grounds and in 2008 we entered into a two year broadcast deal with Sky Sports whereby we sponsored their coverage of domestic test cricket including the 2009 Ashes. We are also a senior commercial partner of the Professional Cricketers’ Association.
Through the Chance to Shine programme, at each home England game, we give a boy or girl the opportunity to be team mascot for the day.
We support cricket at all levels. In 2010 we formed a partnership with the Cricket Foundation’s “Chance to Shine” programme and become their principal supporter.
“Chance to Shine” aims to reach one third of all state schools and two million children and young people by 2015.
Its work transcends ‘on the pitch’ activities to reach into classrooms, consider and promote leadership, teamwork and strategic awareness, and draw together children from all cultures and backgrounds.
