Gloucestershire have announced William Brown as their new chief executive, with effect from September 2.
A lifelong Gloucestershire fan who joins the club from online sports betting company Betfair, Brown succeeds Tom Richardson, who is to bring an end to his 12-year tenure in August.
Prior to his work at Betfair, which saw him manage partnerships with the England and Wales Cricket Board and the Professional Cricketers’ Association, Brown also held positions at the Lawn Tennis Association and Cricinfo.
“I am absolutely delighted to be joining Gloucestershire CCC at such an exciting time for the club,” he said.
“With the new ground, and all the hard work from Tom Richardson and his team, the future looks bright and I look forward to helping develop this success both on and off the field.
Gloucestershire chairman Roger Cooke added: “I am very pleased that Will is taking over at such an exciting time for the club. His arrival will coincide with the opening of our rebuilt Bristol pavilion, and all the commercial and membership opportunities that will represent."
