St Just took another step towards the Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League title when they won at Camborne by the huge margin of 266 runs.
St Just made 356 for seven with Neil Curnow and Gavin Edwards both making 71 but Camborne were shot out for 90 with Philip Nicholas taking 8-22.
At Werrington the home side bowled out St Austell for 115, with Alex Smeeth producing a fine spell of pace bowling to take 8-44. He then made 42 in Werrington’s five wicket win.
Newquay continue to climb the table after a 30 run home win over Callington. Newquay were 99 all out with Matt Robins taking 5-20. Martin Pearce then took 6-24 to bowl Callington out for 69.
Bad light stopped play at Grampound Road as the home side were closing in on victory against Falmouth. Arup Revandkar made 101 in Falmouth’s 254 for six. The Road were 214 for five, with 15 overs remaining, when play was halted. David Hoskings made 90.
Similarly rain stopped play at Redruth where Truro had made 250 for four with Scott Harvey hitting 110 not out and Tom Sharp 89. Redruth were 167 for eight with eight overs remaining, when play was abandoned.
