Australia opener Ed Cowan is set to make his final county appearance before the start of the Investec Ashes Test series as Notts Outlaws take on the Netherlands in their Yorkshire Bank 40 Group A encounter at Truro.
The left-hander has been warmly received by Nottinghamshire since his arrival, accruing four fifties so far this season, and will have one more chance to acquire his first century for the county before heading off to join up with his Australia team-mates.
Cowan was set to take a family break, but has been called upon once more with Riki Wessels ruled out due to a finger injury.
Luke Fletcher is also included in the 12-man squad with Harry Gurney rested for the clash.
Geraint Jones will continue to lead Kent Spitfires in James Tredwell’s absence when they face Sussex Sharks.
Seamer Mark Davies returns to the Spitfires squad, joining former Durham team-mate Mitch Claydon, who is set to make his YB40 debut for the club.
The Sharks, meanwhile, welcome back Joe Gatting, but Amjad Khan is absent with a wrist injury.
Robbie Williams is sidelined with an elbow problem meaning he will miss Leicestershire Foxes’ clash with Glamorgan, who themselves are without the injured Simon Jones.
