Surrey bowler Tom Curran is expected to miss the rest of the season with ankle ligament damage.
The 19-year-old seamer sustained the problem during last Friday’s NatWest T20 Blast defeat against Glamorgan at the Kia Oval.
Director of cricket Alec Stewart told Surrey’s official website: “Tom is obviously very disappointed to have sustained the injury and he will now concentrate on his recovery.
“He was having an excellent season in all forms of the game and we will miss him. The medical team will now focus on getting him back to full fitness as quickly as possible."
Curran has impressed since making his first-class and Twenty20 debuts this term, taking 16 wickets at an average of 29.81 across six appearances in LV= County Championship Division Two.
In the sprint format, the paceman has nine wickets in as many matches at 21.44.
