The ECB Cricket Discipline Commission has fined Derbyshire County Cricket Club £1000 in respect of a breach of regulations for playing two unregistered players in recent matches.
After investigation, it is accepted by the Commission that the failure to register was an administrative oversight on the part of the Derbyshire County Cricket Club and that the players – now registered for that county – were at all times eligible to be registered and play for Derbyshire. Derbyshire County Cricket Club has apologised for the error, put in place measures to ensure that such an error is not repeated in the future and accepted the financial penalty.
In these circumstances the matter has been dealt with by way of summary procedure.
The ECB will make no further comment on this matter.
