Derbyshire have offered academy graduates Ben Cotton and Tom Taylor summer contracts for the 2014 campaign.
All-rounder Cotton, this season’s academy player of the year, has featured regularly for the club’s second team.
Taylor, who can also contribute with both bat and ball, is awaiting his seconds bow after progressing through the Staffordshire Emerging Players’ Programme.
The funding for the deals came from volunteers at the Cricket Derbyshire Book Shop, whose profits support the development of young Derbyshire cricketers.
Head coach Karl Krikken said: “It’s magnificent that the dedication and hard work of the volunteers has helped fund for two summer contracts for 2014. This will help give both Tom and Ben the perfect platform as they continue their developments with the club.”
