Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara shone with the bat as Sri Lanka thumped South Africa by 128 runs in Colombo to finish their five-match one-day international series as commanding 4-1 victors.
Dilshan, who hit an unbeaten 115 in Pallekele on Sunday as the hosts secured the series, scored 99 from 110 balls before being bowled by Ryan McLaren one short of a century.
Sangakkara then blasted an unbeaten 75 from just 45 deliveries as Sri Lanka posted 307 for four.
After losing Kusal Perera in the fifth over, Dilshan was assisted by Lahiru Thirimanne in a 163-run partnership to set up the innings and Sangakkara’s brilliance helped set an intimidating total for South Africa.
The visitors made a solid start to their reply but the loss of opener Hashim Amla for 18 sparked a batting collapse, with the tourists crashing from 60 for one to 85 for six in the space of 10 overs.
AB De Villiers stood alone among the middle-order wreckage with a run-a-ball 51 but Suranga Lakmal and Ajantha Mendis each took three wickets as Sri Lanka bowled out South Africa for just 179 to complete a comfortable series victory
