ECB announces Pitch Panel ruling on Glamorgan pitch

An ECB Pitch Panel comprising Bill Hughes and Tony Pigott (Pitch Liaison Officers) was convened to consider the pitch used for the Royal London One-Day Cup match at the SWALEC Stadium on August 8, 2014 between Glamorgan and Durham.

After considering the pitch reports of the Umpires and after interviewing the Umpires, the Captain and Coach of both teams and the Glamorgan CCC Head Groundsman, the Pitch Panel upheld the Umpires’ decision that the pitch should be rated “poor”. There were no circumstances relating to the preparation of the pitch that negated any penalty being imposed.

As a consequence and according to regulations, Glamorgan are penalised 2 points, such points deduction to be applied to the equivalent 2015 competition.
