Watch England Women claim the Royal London One-Day Series trophy

By Will Jackson

England Women’s final match of the Royal London One-Day Series against India at Lord’s was abandoned without a ball bowled.

The hosts were looking to complete a 3-0 whitewash following two victories over the tourists at Scarborough last week.

But wet weather meant umpires Nick Cook and Ismail Dawood called off the contest just after 2pm with parts of the outfield under water and a bleak forecast for the rest of the day.

Charlotte Edwards' side now turn their attentions to three NatWest T20 Internationals versus South Africa, starting on September 1 at the Essex County Ground.

2.01pm - MATCH ABANDONED! - I'm afraid to say the wet weather wins at Lord's. England take a 2-0 series victory.

1.40pm - The inspection is pushed back 20 minutes. We will have more news around 2pm.

12.54pm - We have at last got some news, and there will be an inspection by the umpires at 1.40pm, which will give us a much clearer idea of whether there will be any play today or not.

11.36am - It's really pouring down at Lord's, there's standing water on the square which might not be much of a problem considering the excellent drainage at the home of cricket but the weather looks set in for the day unfortunately.

10.58am - I wonder if Edwards and Kate Cross have been out for dinner yet? The England skipper told the seam bowler she would buy her a meal out if she helped her reach 100 in the 13-run win at North Marine Road on Saturday.

10.50am - Well as the umpires said earlier, the prospect of play is about as murky as today's weather. They didn't say those exact words, mind you.

10.17am - We're going to have to hang tight folks, it's a miserable day and the covers are well and truly in place on the square. Prospects are "bleak", according to the umpires...

The video above is showing highlights of the previous game at Scarborough. If there are any updates we will let you know, but the weather is only expected to get worse.

10.00am - Welcome to our live coverage of England Women's third Royal London One-Day International against India. It looks set to be a long day at Lord's, with poor weather forecast.

England wrapped up the series on Saturday, with a narrow win over the tourists thanks to a stellar performance from Charlotte Edwards.
