Falcons hope for winning momentum

Derbyshire Falcons will hope to take the winning mentality into their NatWest T20 Blast clash with Worcestershire Rapids tomorrow.

Derbyshire recorded their maiden LV= County Championship Division Two win of the season against Leicestershire in midweek and they aim to break their T20 duck against the Rapids.

They will hope former Australia international Marcus North can continue his impressive form after he smacked 57 in last week’s defeat at Nottinghamshire Outlaws.

The Rapids have named a 12-man squad for the North Group clash, with Moeen Ali away with England at Lord’s.

Richard Oliver will be hoping to regain some form at the top of the order after two failures following an explosive 77 in the Rapids’ opening game of the competition.

* Four of Mark Footitt’s five NatWest Blast 2014 wickets have been opening batsmen; this percentage of 80% is the highest of anyone taking at least three wickets in the competition.

* Worcestershire are attempting to win five consecutive domestic Twenty20 matches for the first time.
