Off-spinner Anisa Mohammed’s five wickets gave West Indies a 23-run win over New Zealand in the Women’s Twenty20 Tri-Series, also featuring England, at Barbados.
Mohammed took 5-10 from four overs to skittle the White Ferns for 81 with six balls unused, but it was not her best Twenty20 international return. That was 5-10 versus South Africa in 2009, figures she bettered with 7-14 in a one-day international against Pakistan in 2011.
Although the hosts lost their openers cheaply and captain Merissa Aguilleira - who had won the toss - soon after, 52 from the powerful Deandra Dottin led them to 104 for six.
Mohammed ensured New Zealand did not threaten that total as Amy Satterthwaite top-scored for the tourists with 31.
