Glamorgan have appointed former Somerset and South Africa batsman Jimmy Cook on a short-term coaching contract.
The 59-year-old, who was a prolific run-scorer both in county cricket and for his native Transvaal, will assist Glamorgan's head of elite performance Matthew Mott.
The county's cricket consultant Brian Rose - himself an ex-Somerset batsman, captain and coach - said: "I am delighted that Glamorgan have brought Jimmy over. His playing and coaching experience will undoubtedly be of significant benefit to both Glamorgan and Welsh cricket."
Cook added: "It's a new and exciting challenge and one I am very much looking forward to. It's a great opportunity for me to work with new players and I hope I can help to further develop the talented pool of exciting young Welsh cricketers."
