Gatting set for daunting challenge

Former England captain Mike Gatting is on the lookout for sponsors as he gears up to take part in the Investec Ashes 2013 Cycle Challenge.

The 56-year-old old will embark on a 340-mile cycle between the quintet of Ashes Test venues, starting in Durham this Saturday and finishing up at Lord’s on July 17, in order to raise money for The Lord’s Taverners charity.

He said: “It would be fantastic if you could support my fundraising efforts.

“Cycling 340 miles is going to be tough but it will be worth all the blood, sweat and tears to put more Lord’s Taverners accessible minibuses on the road for special schools in the UK.

“Your support will make a huge difference and thank you to all those who have already donated.”
