Glamorgan have made a double swoop with the signings of Tom Helm and Tom Lancefield.
Seamer Helm, a previous member of England Potential Performance Programme squads, joins on a month-long loan from Middlesex and will be available for LV= County Championship and NatWest T20 Blast fixtures during his temporary stay at the SWALEC Stadium.
Nineteen-year-old Helm, a graduate of the Middlesex Academy, claimed five wickets on his first-class bow against Yorkshire at Headingley last season and has also featured in two List A matches for his parent club.
Helm could make his Glamorgan debut in the home Division Two encounter against Worcestershire from tomorrow.
Glamorgan chief executive and director of cricket Hugh Morris said: "I've been aware of the progress Tom Helm has made in recent years and his development work with the EPPP.
“I've been getting encouraging reports on him regularly and he's one of the brightest fast bowling talents in the country.
"Clearly with an international calibre bowling attack at Middlesex, his chances there have been limited, but we can provide him with an opportunity and we're thankful to Angus Fraser and Middlesex CCC for allowing us to have Tom for the next month.”
Meanwhile, left-handed batsman Lancefield has penned a one-year contract with the Welsh county.
The 23-year-old former Surrey player, who made his first-class debut in 2010, represented Glamorgan's second XI and the Unicorns last summer following his release from the Kia Oval.
