Derbyshire’s former director of cricket David Houghton will not be retained as the county’s specialist batting coach.
The decision follows last week's budget reviews by Derbyshire’s supervisory board and the announcement that the club will be conducting a structural review of the cricket management strategy.
Houghton, who has been working alongside head coach Karl Krikken’s back-room team since mid-2011, was financed out of a specialist coaching fund, but the relegated club has not yet been able to commit to this again for next season.
Krikken said: "I would personally like to thank David for his magnificent service to the club over the past three seasons and we all wish him well in his future endeavours.
“We have been extremely lucky to have someone with David’s experience during this time, and everyone who has worked with him will have benefitted positively from it.”
