Rain and bad light halted Surrey’s run-chase to ensure their LV= County Championship Division Two clash with Gloucestershire would go into the fourth and final day.
After Chris Tremlett had ripped through the Glamorgan order on day two, the hosts set about their 267-run target on Monday evening with opening pair Rory Burns and Graeme taking the score to 41.

Following rain delays, Smith and Burns – on 39 and seven respectively – faced less than two overs before play resumed at 5pm.
Even then only seven balls were bowled, in which six runs were added, before the rain returned, meaning Surrey will go into the last day on 47 without loss, requiring 220 to seal their maiden victory of the season.
