Title-chasing Yorkshire have been handed an off-field boost with the news Adam Lyth has signed a contract extension.
The top-order batsman, who boasts 4,596 runs in 78 first-class matches, has agreed fresh terms and will remain with the club until December 2015 at least.
"We are delighted that Adam has signed a contract extension," said director of cricket Martyn Moxon.
"He has been a mainstay of our batting department for a number of years now and his experience in top-flight domestic cricket is vital in our progression.
“He is a naturally gifted batsman who is capable of crafting crucial innings. His influence on the wider group will be beneficial in our development over the next few years."
