Moeen earns England increment contract

Worcestershire all-rounder Moeen Ali has been awarded an England increment contract for 2013-14.

He qualifies for the award by virtue of playing three ODIs and two T20s against West Indies, four T20s in the ICC World T20 in Bangladesh and a Test in the current Test series against Sri Lanka.

Non-contracted players can earn an England increment contract via a points system. Five points are awarded for a Test appearance and two for a T20 or ODI appearance, with an increment contract being awarded automatically once the player reaches 20 points during the 12-month contract period.

Moeen Ali, who has been awarded an England increment contract, advances towards the measured 48 he made today on Test debut
