Mushfiqur and Jurgensen stay in Tigers roles

Mushfiqur Rahim has been reinstated as Bangladesh captain until the end of the year and Shane Jurgensen has been kept on as head coach through to the 2015 World Cup.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur, 24, resigned after the Tigers’ one-day series loss to Zimbabwe in May but shortly after admitted to making a "mistake".

However, discussions with Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan have led to Mushfiqur taking the captaincy back while Mahmudullah will remain his deputy for the rest of the year.

The BCB's media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said: "The tenures of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah ended recently. Mushfiqur has talked to the president; there he agreed to lead Bangladesh. He and Mahmudullah have been given extension as captain and vice-captain till December 31, 2013."

Jurgensen became interim coach last year following Richard Pybus’ resignation in October.
