Graham Napier has signed a new two-year deal with Essex that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2015 season.
The 33-year-old has been rewarded for a fine campaign that saw him claim 48 wickets and score 796 runs in the LV= County Championship, with a further 33 scalps coming in limited-overs competitions.
He grabbed the headlines during the Yorkshire Bank 40 as he took four wickets in as many balls during the victory over Surrey at the start of June.
“To sign a new contract with Essex for the next two years is excellent and feels like a huge reward after the best season I have ever had in my career at the club," said Napier.
Head coach Paul Grayson added: “I am very happy that Graham has signed a new contract, especially after the sensational season he experienced last year.
“The 2013 season showed how important Graham is to the team when fully fit and I’m sure he will continue to be key member of the side for the next two years.”
