Pyrah and Compton penalised under ECB discipline code

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today confirmed that Richard Pyrah and Nick Compton have received penalties under the ECB’s discipline code.  

Pyrah was reported by umpires David Millns and Brian Jones during Yorkshire’s Second XI Championship match against Nottinghamshire on 15th – 17th April 2014 for a Level One breach of the code (abuse of cricket ground, equipment or fixtures/fittings).

Compton was reported by umpires Michael Gough and David Millns during Somerset’s LV= County Championship match against Durham on 20th – 23rd April 2014, for a Level One breach of the code (showing dissent at an umpire’s decsion by word or action).

The penalty for these offences is a reprimand. These penalties will remain on their records for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
