Thornely penalised under ECB Discipline Code

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today confirmed that Michael Thornely has received a penalty under the ECB’s discipline code.

During Leicestershire’s Second Eleven Trophy match against Derbyshire on 2nd July 2013, Thornely was reported by Mike Burns and Trevor Riley for a Level One breach of the code (showing dissent at Umpire’s decision by word or action).

The penalty for this offence is a reprimand. This penalty will remain on his record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension.
