Pakistan have recalled batsman Umar Akmal and seamer Wahab Riaz for the five one-day internationals with South Africa in the United Arab Emirates.
Umar was not considered for Pakistan’s previous ODIs, a 2-1 defeat of Zimbabwe in late August, after suffering a seizure on a flight to Jamaica during the Caribbean Premier League. He has since been cleared by a neurologist but was not considered for the current Tests versus South Africa.
Sohaib Maqsood, a batsman who played in August’s two Twenty20 internationals against Zimbabwe, has also been named in the 16-man squad.
The selectors left out three players who featured in the Zimbabwe ODIs: seamers Anwar Ali and Asad Ali plus batsman Haris Sohail.
