Northamptonshire vice-captain Alex Wakely is to host his own show dedicated to the 100-year anniversary of World War One on BBC Radio Northampton at 8.20am on Friday 8 August.
Wakely, currently recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon that ruled him out for the season, will remember those who fought in World War One.
The batsman will also talk to club chaplain David Chawner and Andrew Radd about the war and how it had an impact on Northamptonshire.
Wakely said: “It was fascinating to learn about a subject that I didn’t know much about.
“It was humbling to hear stories of people from Northants Cricket, who gave their lives for the country and never had the opportunity to play another game of cricket.
“I am hoping I will be able to go over to France very soon, to see some of the sites where we lost a lot of good men, such as the Battle of the Somme.”
