Persistent drizzle prevented any play on the final day at Trent Bridge as Nottinghamshire's LV= County Championship clash with Warwickshire ended in a draw.
With the home side set to start their second innings needing 211 to win an intriguing finish was in prospect, but the conditions failed to improve throughout the day and play was eventually called off at 3.15pm.
It left Nottinghamshire frustrated in their search of a third championship win of the season, which would have moved them further away from the relegation zone.
The draw leaves Notts in sixth spot, having taken 10 points from the game, eight clear of eighth-placed Somerset and 24 behind Warwickshire, who picked up eight from the contest.
Notts have the welcome distraction of their Yorkshire Bank 40 semi-final against Somerset on Monday before closing out their championship programme with tough away trips to Middlesex and Durham, before again hosting Somerset in what could be a crucial clash at the bottom of Division One.
Warwickshire, badly hit by injuries and international call-ups going into this contest, have a free week in which they will hope for one or two players to regain full fitness, before facing Surrey at home and Derbyshire away in their closing two encounters.
