Wright left sidelined by injury

Warwickshire have confirmed Chris Wright will be out for several weeks due to a stress fracture in his back.

Wright, who has averaged 25 with the ball in first-class cricket since moving to Edgbaston in 2011 and represented England Lions, suffered the injury during the Bears’ LV= County Championship match against Middlesex at Uxbridge last week.

Warwickshire director of cricket Dougie Brown said: “We’re obviously very disappointed to lose Chris as he has a fantastic record since joining us in 2011 and has a great impact within the dressing room.

“The immediate priority for him is to rest and we look forward to welcoming him back into our strong bowling attack in due course.”
