Boje extends Northants deal
Nicky Boje has agreed to join Northamptonshire on a two-year contract after a successful spell at the club last season.
Boje averaged 41.25 in his four LV County Championship games for Northamptonshire in 2007, with a top score of 125, and took 16 wickets.
The NatWest Pro40 saw the all-rounder average 32.5 with the bat and he was the county’s leading wicket-taker with 11.
Boje said: “I really enjoyed my time at the club last summer and found some form in all aspects of the game. I was easily persuaded by the club to make the move on a longer term basis and look forward to being a part of a very strong squad in 2008.”
Head Coach David Capel commented: “The experience that Nicky brings to the dressing room along with consistent match-winning capability as an all-rounder in all forms of the game makes him a very valuable asset. He has a depth of cricket knowledge which our talented young players should learn from”.
Chief executive Mark Tagg added: “David (Capel) has put together a squad capable of challenging for the next few seasons and the whole of Northamptonshire can look forward to competitive attractive cricket being played throughout the season and in all competitions.
“There are established, developing and very exciting young talent at the club and we are all looking forward to them coming together to compete at the highest level.”
