Dean added to Derbyshire committee

Derbyshire have strengthened their committee with the addition of former player Kevin Dean, who retired in 2008
Derbyshire have announced former player Kevin Dean will join the club’s general committee.
The 36-year-old, who retired from the game in 2008, will have to stand for full election by Derbyshire’s members at the forthcoming elections and Annual General Meeting in March.
Left-armer Dean has pledged his full support to Derbyshire’s cricket strategy based on developing homegrown players and, as captain of reigning ECB Derbyshire Premier League Champions Ockbrook & Borrowash, is well placed to spot local emerging talent.
Derbyshire chairman Chris Grant said: “When evaluating co-opted appointees to the general committee, we are looking for individuals who can add real value to our decision making process and contribute fully to moving Derbyshire County Cricket Club forward.
“As someone who has only recently retired from the game, Kevin will be an excellent source of support and advice to Karl Krikken and our young playing staff.
“I am delighted to welcome him to the general committee.”
