Wagg keeps his options open
Graham Wagg may leave Derbyshire after this season with his employers revealing he is considering offers from other counties.
The 27-year-old all-rounder has been offered a new contract at the County Ground, but is yet to sign it.
Wagg joined Derbyshire in 2006 and has since taken 184 first-class wickets at an average of 33.35 as well as scoring 1,711 runs at 25.92.
The 2007 and 2008 seasons saw him complete the all-rounder’s double of 500 plus runs and 50 plus wickets, and the 2009 campaign brought a further 47 wickets via a combination of seam and spin.
An Achilles injury has limited Wagg to just one appearance in 2010, but his rehabilitation is continuing with the Derbyshire medical team.
Head of cricket John Morris said: “We are keen to keep Graham Wagg at the club and have made the best possible contract offer in a bid to do so.
“Graham is currently considering our offer but is also discussing terms with other counties as he is entitled to do.”
