Former England fast bowler Mike Hendrick has parted company with Derbyshire after four seasons as the club’s bowling coach.

Derbyshire head of cricket John Morris has elected to restructure the club’s bowling coaching.

During his playing career, Hendrick played 30 Tests and 22 one-day internationals for England as well as 167 matches for Derbyshire.

He took 497 first-class wickets for Derbyshire and 770 in all at an impressive average of 20.50.

Hendrick, now 60, rejoined the club he represented for 13 seasons in April 2004 after a spell coaching with Ireland.

Derbyshire chairman Don Amott commented: “First as a player and later as a coach, Mike has given the club long and distinguished service. I wish him all the very best for the future.”

Morris added: “I would like to thank Mike for the hard work he has put in during his time with Derbyshire.”
