Six Derbyshire players are in Pune, India, for a 10-day spin-bowling clinic.
Batsmen Matt Lineker and Paul Borrington are aiming to increase their expertise against the turning ball, while all-rounders Dan Redfern, Peter Burgoyne and Jake Needham are looking to hone their skills with bat and ball.
Wicketkeeper Tom Poynton, who is working on his technique standing up to the stumps, completes the touring party.
Second XI coach AJ Harris, who is leading the trip, said: “The trip to Pune is an excellent opportunity for the players involved to work on their specialist skills and to adapt to unfamiliar conditions and surroundings.
“Each of them will return better cricketers and hopefully their improved skills will come to the fore during the 2012 season and beyond.”
