Allenby extends Glamorgan stay

Australian all-rounder Jim Allenby has committed his future to Glamorgan by signing a contract extension until the end of 2013
Jim Allenby has agreed a contract extension with Glamorgan.
The 29-year-old Australian all-rounder - who will captain Glamorgan's Twenty20 side, newly named the Welsh Dragons, in 2012 and be the club's vice-captain in other formats - has agreed terms with the Welsh county until the end of 2013, with a further option for 2014.
Allenby, who joined Glamorgan from Leicestershire in 2009, said: “I'm delighted to commit myself to Glamorgan Cricket for the long-term.
“It's very heartening to see the healthy uptake in the club's membership for 2012, and I'm really looking forward to leading the Welsh Dragons in the Friends Life t20 competition in 2012, as well as acting as second-in-command to club captain Mark Wallace in the LV= County Championship and the Clydesdale Bank 40.”
Colin Metson, managing director of cricket, said: “Jim is an integral part of the Glamorgan team and we are delighted that he has made this commitment to Glamorgan Cricket for the foreseeable future.”
