Mark Cosgrove scored over 1,000 runs this summer, including 175 in the final LV= County Championship match with Surrey
Glamorgan have re-signed Australian left-handed opener Mark Cosgrove as their overseas player for next season.
The 25-year-old, who first played for Glamorgan in 2006, enjoyed a successful 2009 with the Welsh county in which he scored over 1,000 runs in all matches and finished with an average of 63 in the LV= County Championship.
Director of Cricket Matthew Maynard said: “I am absolutely thrilled that Mark will be returning to Glamorgan next year. He has been a great addition to our playing squad and has had a very impressive season with us.
“He is a talented and destructive opening batsman and his score of 175 runs against Surrey in our last four-day match will be remembered for some time.”
Glamorgan, who finished fifth in Division Two of the championship, have also signed another left-hander in 23-year-old Nick James after a successful trial.
James was involved in two NatWest Pro40 games for Glamorgan in 2009, against Lancashire and Derbyshire, both of which Glamorgan won.
