Glamorgan keep Cooke
Chris Cooke has signed a two-year contract extension with Glamorgan, who are also hoping to utilise Simon Jones in four-day cricket next summer.
Johannesburg-born batsman Cooke enjoyed a stunning debut against Middlesex in the 2011 Friends Life t20, striking three of the first four deliveries he faced for six.
The 26-year-old went on to feature in 10 Clydesdale Bank 40 matches - and a further five T20 fixtures - last year and provided renewed evidence of his talent with an unbeaten 137 against Somerset.

Chris Cooke faces the challenge of breaking into Glamorgan's LV= County Championship side after signing a two-year contract extension
He is now hoping to break into Glamorgan’s four-day team, which could also include Jones on a more regular basis after the former England paceman expressed a desire to feature in red-ball cricket.
Jones has made just one LV= County Championship appearance since his return to the SWALEC Stadium, having been signed primarily as a limited-overs bowler.
Matthew Mott, Glamorgan’s head of elite performance, said: “Chris has made a positive impact during his short career with Glamorgan. Having established himself in our one-day sides, we look forward to working with him to continue to develop his career as he pushes for inclusion in our four-day team.
“Over the past few months, we have also been working closely with Simon Jones – he’s in great shape and is keen to play in more four-day games next season too.
“Being able to expose high-impact players, such as Simon and Chris, to four-day cricket will provide a massive boost to our championship campaign.”
Jones added: “Last season was my first full season back with Glamorgan (following a loan spell in 2011).
“I played in one four-day game against Derbyshire and enjoyed it. I’ve trained hard over recent weeks and my body feels good. I’ve told Motty that I am raring to go and am available for selection for four-day matches in 2013.”
