Glamorgan have stepped up their preparations for the historic Ashes Test at the new stadium in Cardiff next season by appointing a stadium director.
Simon Lee is joining the county’s staff from his current position as executive director of Chepstow and Hereford race courses and has previously worked at Celtic Manor golf club and the Millennium Stadium.
The venue will host a Test for the first time when England and Australia meet on July 8 to contest the opening match of the 2009 Ashes series and the county are keen for the event to be a success.
Glamorgan chairman Paul Russell said: "With Simon's appointment adding to the highly experienced team already in place at Glamorgan, we are now in the best possible position as we prepare for next summer."
