Lloyd nets Glamorgan deal
Glamorgan have handed top-order batsman David Lloyd a professional contract.
The 20-year-old, born in St. Asaph, has been handed a deal until the end of the 2013 season following impressive displays in the Glamorgan second XI, including a career-best 182 against Gloucestershire at Bristol earlier this summer.
Glamorgan’s head of elite performance Matthew Mott said: "David has come up through the ranks and is an exciting young player.
"He's shown a good training ethic and great versatility in all formats, particularly with some big scores with the bat this summer, so we welcome him into the squad.
"We hope he develops his first-class mentality within the squad so when he gets his chance, he can put some pressure on those players incumbent in the side and score some runs for the team."
Lloyd added: "I'm grateful for the opportunity of being part of the Glamorgan squad. I'm delighted to have been given the chance to show what I can do and look forward to working with the club's coaching staff and joining up with the rest of the squad."
