Birth to delay North arrival

Glamorgan are on the lookout for a temporary overseas player after Australian batsman Marcus North delayed his arrival in Wales
Glamorgan have suffered a setback with the news that overseas signing Marcus North will miss the first month of the 2012 season.
The Australian batsman, who signed a two-year deal at the SWALEC Stadium in August 2011, will remain in his homeland for the birth of his second child, delaying his arrival in Wales.
A statement on the county’s website read: “Marcus will not join up with the squad until late April/early May and the club are pro-actively working to sign a temporary overseas player to cover his period of absence.”
It’s the second disappointment for Glamorgan in a matter of weeks after last season’s captain Alviro Petersen opted to postpone his return to the county in favour of prolonging his South Africa career.
