Rose to review Welsh cricket
Glamorgan and Cricket Wales have appointed Brian Rose to conduct an independent review into the Welsh game.
Rose, who stood down as Somerset’s director of cricket at the end of last summer, will assess a range of areas, including Glamorgan’s coaching structures and player development pathways in Wales.
He will be given the opportunity to meet with key figures in Welsh cricket before delivering his initial findings and recommendations, which are expected to be announced by the start of April.
Glamorgan chief executive officer Alan Hamer said: “Brian Rose has extensive cricket experience and is widely respected. Both Glamorgan Cricket and Cricket Wales are delighted that he has agreed to help with this review, which underpins our respective strategic plans.”
Peter Hybart, chief executive officer of Cricket Wales, added: “The relationship between Cricket Wales and Glamorgan Cricket has never been closer. We welcome Brian’s involvement and are committed to increasing the numbers of talented young Welsh cricketers capable of playing professional cricket for Glamorgan.”
