Stewart Walters has extended his contract until the end of the 2014 season. "I have loved my time in Cardiff since I arrived," he said

Walters, who joined from Surrey in February 2011, said: “I have loved my time in Cardiff since I arrived here and I’m excited about the future we’ve got here as a club.

“I am very pleased to have signed a contract extension with Glamorgan. I’ve been at the club for two seasons and I’m looking forward to helping us improve next year as a group and being part of that success as we put it together on the field.”

Aneurin Norman, Chris Ashling and Mike O’Shea have been released, while Jim Allenby has scooped Glamorgan’s player of the year award.

Head of elite performance Matthew Mott said: "This is a time when we have to release players from the club as we shape our plans for 2013 and it is never an easy decision to make.

“These players are young enough to still make it at first-class level and we would like to thank them for their commitment and effort throughout their careers for the county."
