Miles and Taylor commit to Gloucestershire
Gloucestershire have continued their preparations for the 2013 season by handing contracts to two further young players.
All-rounder Craig Miles and left-arm seamer Matt Taylor, both 18, have followed in the footsteps of wicketkeepers Gareth Roderick and Cameron Herring, who were awarded deals last week.
Miles, who made his LV= County Championship debut against Northamptonshire in May 2011 at the age of 16, has penned a two-year contract.
A one-year scholarship has been awarded to Taylor, who will then be handed a two-year professional deal of his own.
Gloucestershire academy director Owen Dawkins said: “Craig Miles played his first second XI game for us at the age of 14. He has developed well as a bowling all-rounder and will spend this winter working with our strength and conditioning coach Chris Bodman.
“Matt Taylor has the ability to bowl a nagging line and length while moving the ball around. He has also been with us a number of years and it is great to see so many young players graduating from the academy to the professional ranks.”
