Gloucs let Hodnett and Gitsham go

Grant Hodnett, who has been at Gloucestershire since 2005, will not have his contract renewed next month
Gloucestershire have announced that Grant Hodnett and Matthew Gitsham will be released at the end of the season.
South Africa-born batsman Hodnett, who turns 27 on Monday, failed to cement a place in the first team in the five summers he has spent at Bristol.
He has played just one LV= County Championship match and four Twenty20 Cup games this summer and, like Gitsham - a 27-year-old leg-spinner - will not have his contract renewed when it expires in September.
A Gloucestershire statement read: “We feel that Grant Hodnett and Matthew Gitsham still have plenty of cricket in them, but they have not had many opportunities this year and we see this as unlikely to change in the future.
“We thank them both for their efforts for the club. We are looking to go through a regeneration process over the next couple of years.”
