Gloucestershire have announced spinner Muttiah Muralitharan will be available for their Friends Life t20 quarter-final against Sussex.

The 40-year-old Sri Lankan took five wickets at an economy rate of just 5.11 runs an over as the Gladiators finished second in the Midlands/Wales/West Group, securing a last-eight clash with the Sharks at the PROBIZ County Ground next Tuesday.

Chief executive Tom Richardson said: "Murali made a major contribution on and off the field during our group T20 matches and we are delighted he has been able to return to join up with the team for the quarter finals.
