Wicketkeeper Steve Snell has committed his future to Gloucestershire by signing a new contract with the club.
The 25-year-old averages 53 in the LV County Championship this summer - the highest at the county - having scored 636 runs to go with 31 dismissals.
And the impending return of John Bracewell as coach ahead of next season convinced Snell to put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
“I am very happy to commit my future to Gloucestershire for the next three years,” he said.
“I am very much looking forward to John Bracewell’s input as coach. I want to continue my development and push for further honours in the next few years.”
Jack Russell, Gloucestershire team mentor, paid tribute to Snell’s improvement in both aspects of his game
He said: “Steve has knuckled down this year and through his hard work he has performed to a high standard both with the gloves and the bat.
“He thoroughly deserves his contract extension. If he continues to work hard at his game the world is his oyster.”
