Gloucestershire batsman Chris Taylor has been awarded a benefit for the 2009 season, after making his debut for the club in 2000.
He scored a hundred in his debut performance and has been an integral part of Gloucestershire’s championship side and one-day successes.
“I feel extremely proud and honoured to have been awarded a benefit year for 2009,” Taylor said.
“It is a privilege to follow in the footsteps of some true Gloucestershire legends and I would therefore like to thank all those at the club for this opportunity.”
Taylor made 1,076 runs in the LV County Championship in 2008 and captained the side on several occasions, in the absence of Jon Lewis.
