Hampshire have confirmed that batsmen Greg Lamb and Kevin Latouf will leave the club at the end of the season.

Neither player has been offered a contract for the 2009 campaign, both having failed to make the desired impression at first-team level.

Zimbabwe-born Lamb has scored just 272 runs at an average of 20 in nine LV County Championship games this summer, and leaves the Rose Bowl having played 22 first-class matches.

Latouf, who was born in South Africa but represented England at under-19 level, boasts a solitary first-class appearance in four seasons at Hampshire.

He did, however, collect a winner’s medal after featuring in Hampshire’s C&G Trophy final victory over Warwickshire in 2005.

A Hampshire statement read: “The club would like to thank both players for their contributions and wish them the very best of luck in their future careers.”
