Morris leaves Hampshire

Former England Under-17 all-rounder Richard Morris has been released after failing to earn a new contract at Hampshire.

The 20-year-old batsman first made his debut for Hampshire back in 2006 and was a regular for the Second XI throughout the 2008 season.

However he failed to break through and make an impression on the first team and has been released having last played first-class cricket back in May for Loughborough UCCE.

Morris has thus far featured in five first-class games, taking five wickets and scoring a total of 98 runs in five innings at an average of 24.
