Azhar set for Sri Lanka stint

Kent have given Azhar Mahmood permission to play in the Sri Lanka Premier League for the next fortnight and confirmed they will not renew his contract for 2013.

The former Pakistan international will play for Wayamba United until the end of the month before returning to Canterbury for the remainder of the campaign.

Due to Azhar’s Indian Premier League and SLPL commitments, he will not be handed a new deal for next season but discussions are ongoing for him to return to Kent for the Friends Life t20.
