A dozen new deals at Kent
Kent stalwarts Geraint Jones, James Tredwell and Darren Stevens are among 12 players to have penned contract extensions with the county, who have 20 players signed up for next season.
Recent signings Mark Davies, Ben Harmison and Brendan Nash plus youngsters Sam Northeast, Sam Billings, Fabian Cowdrey, Ben Kemp, Ivan Thomas and Ashley Shaw make up the dozen.
Captain Rob Key, Adam Ball, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Alex Blake, Matt Coles, Michael Powell, Adam Riley and Charlie Shreck remain in contract for the 2013 campaign.
This year Kent came third in LV= County Championship Division Two and Clydesdale Bank 40 Group C plus fourth in the Friends Life t20 South Group.
Kent chairman Graham Johnson said: “I am extremely pleased to announce that the core of the 2012 squad have committed their futures to Kent Cricket.
“During 2012, the players have performed well and we will seek to build upon this during 2013. I am particularly pleased that we have a great number of talented young cricketers coming through the system, and this season they have demonstrated their great potential.”
